Women are drastically underrepresented in elected office – it’s time to change that.This roadmap is designed to give you the information you need when you’re deciding to run for office, and to help you confidently launch your campaign. The workshop will help you understand the opportunities available and provide guidance on key steps, from deciding why you should run to building your team and crafting your message. The session will also provide insight into overcoming unique barriers and challenges that women candidates may face.
Minnesota needs more women in leadership, and your unique voice, vision, and experience can help shape the state into a better place to live, work, and raise a family. You don’t need to wait to be asked to run for office. This workshop will cover how you can raise money, effectively message to voters, and embrace authenticity over perfection. Meet Your Workshop Presenter
Amanda Tinsley, Director of Public Affairs – Minnesota House Republican CaucusAmanda Tinsley currently serves as the Director of Public Affairs in the MN House of Representatives, and has worked in at the MN House in both public policy and communications roles for over a decade. She earned a Masters in Political Management with an emphasis on electoral politics from the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, and has extensive experience with public policy, government affairs, communications, campaign strategy, and training women to run for public office.
